Wind turbine DS700 is a 700W nominal power (1kW maximum power) vertical axis small wind turbine that combines in its structure a dual system consisting of Darrieus blades that guarantee high efficiency and Savonius blades, which enable the system to be activated with very low winds. This technology mix makes the Hi-VAWT turbine a highly innovative product: equipped with controllers capable of managing the maximum battery power and direct magnet drive generator. These turbines are built according to the IEC 61400-2 certification, a very important factor for small power generators. Very small dimensions, weighing only 60Kg, quietness, are the features that make this wind turbine the perfect solution for integration with residential photovoltaic systems with 48V battery storage technology.

The DS700 small wind generator distinguishes itself from the many cheap Chinese products, the numerous turbines made in the laboratory and never tested in open field, thanks to the double rotor, the dumper, the materials used, the Certifications obtained.

MECHANICAL FEATURES

Unique Hybrid Technology

The dual-rotor turbine facilitates starting with wind breeze and exponentially increases power with strong winds up to 15,5/20 m/s. Excellent for hybrid installations with PV and battery storage.

  • A: Darrieus blades made of aluminum, with an arc wedge curve, to best distribute the tension force to optimize wind capture and increase energy production.

  • B1: Darrieus blade fastening plate, blade connection has been designed to eliminate the potential for breaks with very strong winds and reduce the possibility of damage to the generator in case of breakage of the blade.

  • B2: Savonius blades, perfect as they are oriented on the four cardinal points to capture wind from any direction, without the need for rotor orientation.

  • B3: Vertical axis of the turbine, built in ASTM type A283 grade D steel (better known as SS400) suitable for working at temperatures of -2o~+40°C.

  • B4:Direct drive permanent magnet generator, high performance bearings with resistance to rigid temperatures, a key feature for working with strong constant winds, where mechanical stress is very strong.

  • B5: Darrieus blade fastening plate, blade connection has been designed to eliminate the potential for breaks with very strong winds and reduce the possibility of damage to the generator in case of breakage of the blade.

  • B6: R/S/T three-phase generator cables designed for connection to a battery charger or a grid inverter.

  • B7: Dumper, a fundamental component to minimize the vibration and therefore the noise of the turbine.

  • B8: Overvoltage wire for the manual brake to be welded to the pole with its support “C” shape.

  • C1-2-3-7.1-7.2-8.1: Various screws for Darrieus blade connections, flange of the turbine on pole.

Installation of two 700W turbines on a pole made ad hoc to support two solar panels, installed on a sea-side pier for monitoring station power.
